I had the above mentioned surgery 11 weeks ago, I am desperate to get back in a yoga studio and start practicing again. I am not sure if I can/should. Would love to hear from anyone who has expertise in this area.

Hi! I never consistently worked out before but just started going to yoga classes 2x a week. I'm hoping to improve my flexibility and mobility, while relieving stress, but I'm not always sure the best approach to take when it comes to pre-workout (an...

Hi, Im post-op from fairly intense dental/sinus surgery and really missing my yoga practice. Can anyone suggest a few asanas that don’t involve leaning or bending forward or lying flat? Thanks for any help.

Try googling chair yoga which are inherently less strenuous moves then make modifications to suit your needs. Good luck!

I started teaching at a gym in group fitness classes. I had some traditional yoga music pop up in my playlist, and it's just not the right vibe for that setting. I've been to studios and I hear really cool music that seems modern. Where are those pla...

Anyone into Aerial Yoga? It’s so fun!! #Athleta

Yes, I have done aerial yoga off and on for a few years. It does dig into your body, but I sometimes wear one of those waist wraps, to prevent pain. I have an aerial sling in my home.

Hey guys -As you all know, putting together a yoga class can be time consuming - developing the sequence, playlist and sutra. I currently have a situation where I teach to the same students 2 or 3 times a week. Do you find that students don't mind re...

I have an AM class and a PM class. My AM one is more flow and energetic. The PM one, I try to make a little more cooling and hatha focused. But I still might have it be similar focus on poses - like peak pose of Half Moon Bind ... or Hamstring focus ...

What should I know before starting yoga in my mid 60s? I'm not sure if I'm flexible enough to do some of the moves. And what benefits do other older women find from starting yoga?

Take a look at the "Yoga After 50" book by Larry Payne, Ph.D. It is available in the King County library system. It has good discussions about poses and modifications. Have fun and do what works for you!

I injured my wrist from a fall doing another sport a few months ago, and my wrist pain hasn't fully gone away yet. Yoga has been my main way to move, and it's so good for my mental health, but I have been trying to avoid it until my wrist is better s...
