Hey hey!!

My name is Darani and I’m recovering right from an ACL surgery. I was wondering if someone can help me with a routine for my upper body that is recovery friendly.

THANK YOU 🙂

Hi Darani welcome! I'm sorry to hear about the surgery, but glad to know you're recovering! How has the healing process been for you? Surgery is no joke so its important for you to take time and take care of yourself. I don't know any routines for upper body that would be recovery friendly, but maybe @Leada_M could help you out with this? Any other help from the Community is also welcomed!

Hey Vanessa!

Thank you for checking in! My recovery is going well 🙂 I just want to make the best of it!

Yeah I totally get it, I love that you are making the most out of a situation and that you're still goal setting! It can be hard to keep going and push yourself, but with the right support and guidance, I think you will find yourself stronger than when you first came into this! But I'm glad that its going well and hoping for a speedy recovery ❤️

Hi @daranij! Love to hear that you’re looking for ways to stay moving around the injury. It depends on how far out you are, but if you’re able to walk around and do stairs you c an do most things standing on two legs and definitely lots seated comfortably. Bicep curls, lateral raises, tricep extensions, or banded exercises are usually safe. Seated upper body machines are a great option at the gym. But I would err on running it by your physical therapist since they will know exactly where you are at on your timeline and how your knee is doing. Hope this helps! Keep it up. I know recovery takes effort and I already know you’re crushing it!

Darani (cool name btw) - I’m so glad you asked this question. I’m dealing with a shoulder issue and now have the courage to ask this group for advice.

@asparling1986 I can't even tell you how excited the guides (including myself) are to be an open resource for you in such a great community. Feel free to reach out with any questions! 🙌
