Hello, my name is Vanessa and I am addicted to coffee.

 

I would drink about 3-4 cups of coffee a day. One day I decided not to drink any and I got severe headaches, chills, and other withdrawal symptoms. After that I decided to quit cold turkey.

 

Its a year later without a single drop of coffee! BUT my problem is that I need a pick me up! Working full time now has be so tired. I've tried tea and matcha and that worked for a little while, but nothing like coffee.

 

Should I get back on coffee in moderation? Or does anyone have any coffee alternatives? Let me know!

I'm no expert, but I, personally, think 1 cup of coffee a day is totally fine, as long as you are still able to sleep and do everything else you love. 

@vanessa @danielle agreed! while I am not a coffee drinker myself (I do a huge cup of black tea first thing in the morning) I love the idea of enjoying in moderation versus telling myself a hard "no" on something I really enjoy. Also not sure if you are specifically looking for a caffeinated beverage, but in terms of food, how about a hunk of dark chocolate? It's high in antioxidants AND can give you a little pick me up to feel good! I eat 2-4 oz of Valrhona every day! they make huge bars 🍫 or bite sized chocolate discs

Oh I love this! I have such a sweet tooth and love sugar-free dark chocolate, so that is something I am MORE than eager to try haha. I love tea and drink it daily, but more for relaxation purposes rather than for a pick me up. Thank you so much I'll let you know how it goes (maybe I'll do a small cup of coffee and a chocolate bar for being good lol!).

Yeah I want to try in moderation! I'm a little hesitant that I may go overboard, but I think as long as I'm intentional, then I may be able to go back!!

Everything in moderation is ok! In my opinion at least. I also crave coffee, but because I was pregnant and now breastfeeding I now limit myself to one (maybe 2) cups a day and my body has gotten used to it!

My body definitelyyyy craves it too! But I’m glad to hear that your body is getting used to moderation! I may have to introduce coffee back into my system slowly, but I’m definitely looking forward to it 🤣
