It's time to let it go. Sometimes that's a little easier said than done.

 

This 12-minute mindful movement practice is designed to help you release what's not yours to hold, and find space to ground back into you. Through low-impact sculpting, cathartic cardio release, and mindful pauses, step off your mat feeling more balanced, open and expansive in body and mind. Tell us, what are you releasing? If you don't yet know, this practice will help you visualize it.

 

You can access the playlist for this practice here! If you would like to move with music, press "play" as we come down onto our mats and begin practice in tabletop position.

 

*NOTE: the cathartic cardio release sections can all be done with or without jumping. Please modify, slow down the pace, and honor your body throughout the practice.

On my walk this morning I set an intention that I wanted to shake out my body today... and then I watched this and that intention was accomplished! I am releasing any expectations I have of myself today.

The past two weeks have been busy at work and my goal for this workout was to release that tension and heaviness from the past weeks! I need a slow down and intentional slowing down the pace of life from time to time.

Dani got my blood pumping this morning with this "Release" activity.  My Release this morning with this exercise .... the urge to sit and read about self care.  Today I moved beyond reading about it to actively engaging in it.

Thank you for this space to share and release... I am releasing the stress of a single mom with two boys (ages 9,19) one in college, and one in elementary; starting over from divorce was stressful then my newly ex is sentenced to 7 years  Federal prison. i have to stay on my game; my son cant lose both parents.

I loved this workout! The time for mindfulness mixed with the cardio  helped me to release all the tension. I was able to visualise  the tension being released.

Thanks so much for this release practice! Stuck at home sick and can't go to the gym 😞  Really appreciate having this today to release frustration, achiness and a bit of low attitude.  Able to make it low impact was helpful!

Usually yoga is relaxing for me, but this was pretty fast and a bit intense. My knees protested a bit….definitely made me feel my age!

Well that made me realize how squeaky my wood floor is!  Although I had to slow down and modify the movement’s it made me realize what I have been missing.  Walking maybe won’t be the only thing I do going forward! 🎉

wow such beautiful reflections! thank you all for stepping onto your mat with me this morning and trying something new. 

 

if you're working with an injury, are feeling tired today, or need to modify the practice for ANY reason at all -- reminder to always honor your body and modify. for any higher impact sections in the cardio release, you can take out the jumping or just dance around your mat however it feels good. ❤️

@Ashleylwc1885 -- totally hear you! for the cardio release sections where they can be more high impact, know that you can always always modify taking out the jumping or moving your body however it feels good. that's always my main focus in offering these practices! Let me know if I can support you in anyway!

@Cerrisyogamama -- totally understand! this practice is definitely more of an active movement sequence focused on using low-impact strength, cardio release and meditative pauses to release stagnant energy from the body. if you're looking for more yoga, meditation and breathwork, Margeaux and I will be leading a slower paced, grounding practice to close out wellbeing week this Thursday! would love to have you join us. ❤️

Forgot to check back in on Tuesday so this was a great way to start back with the practice first thing Wednesday morning. Reminding myself that practice makes progress and it’s not about perfection!

Thank you but I found I have a torn left meniscus! Due to covid delays everywhere, surgery not scheduled till 1/27, so grateful for a steroid shot that took the edge of my knee discomfort. I was being treated for hip pain when this started. Sigh... I will beat it!

I decided to do this in the morning and it help to ground myself and relieve bad thoughts about the day ahead. As a new school semester is starting I find myself getting so worked up and this helped to push through bad energy.

I’m releasing from being a full time working  mom who has Covid and hasn’t been able to shake it off completely because I have no much time to rest. I wish I could do my stronger yoga practices but right now I can only do mindfulness and stretching. Thanks for letting me vent!
