I’ve been ASICS loyal for years and years but I hear such good things about HOKA. Looking for recs for concrete running. Any recs? Or another brand I should try?
My son used to work at an athletic shoe store. One of the things they were trained to do was a five point foot test... or something like that. But basically, they had you run through a couple different movements to see how you walked, what kind of arch your foot had and so on... then they recommend a shoe that would work best for your foot type. I would highly recommend finding a shoe store that does that. My son recommended Hoka Gaviota 2 for me and I love them!
Hoka’s are the best! I too have worn ASICS and other brands before I tried Hoka’s. I’ll never go back to another brand. My personal favorites are the Clifton but I also like Bondi - these would be the more cushioned shoes. The Hoka website has really good descriptions of each style which is helpful to find the best shoe for you. Hope this helps!
I am an Adidas Boost devotee! I've had 4 pairs (through 10+ half marathons, 4 marathons, countless miles) and they have always been great to me. But, going to your closest specialized running store is super helpful!
Go to a running shoe store and have them fit you! You can usually test out on a treadmill. HOKA's are the best for me! I can go further and with less back pain. Ran in Brooks for years but will never go back. HOKAs all the way!
Thanks everyone! Going to my local athletic shoe store tomorrow. Will report back with how it goes and what they recommend!
