Meet Amanda, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (specializing in the pelvic floor!) from Kansas City. Hear about her passion for pelvic floor health and the importance of taking care of your pelvis every day!

Q: Tell us a little about yourself!

I’m a pelvic floor physical therapist. I played sports my whole life and spent many months/ years in physical therapy. I loved the idea of helping people get back to doing what they loved to do pain free so I decided to become a physical therapist.

Q: How did you get started?

I had my own pelvic floor issues (bladder leakage, prolapse and pain with intercourse) and overcame them. I went into pelvic health because I wanted to give people hope and inspire people to improve their symptoms.

Q: What’s your favorite Athleta product?

I’m obsessed with Athleta clothes. I love the Renew Seamless Scoop Tank -- I think I have every color. And as a physical therapist, the Venice Colorblock Wide Leg Pant and Brooklyn Jogger because they allow me to show my patients how to lift and move without falling down off my w

Q: What are you most proud of in your career?

Living my mission of normalizing pelvic health each and every day!

Q: What’s your best piece of advice for others in your field?

Your pelvic floor contracts and relaxes like other muscles 💪 in your body. Make sure you can contract (kegel), but more importantly, make sure you can release it back down (like an elevator coming all the way back down to the lobby). What goes up, must come down!!
