Grounding: 21-days of Body Awareness

Today we'll begin our 21-Day Grounding: Body Awareness practice. The invitation for the month is to spend 1-minute each day, checking in and scanning what's being felt physically, emotionally and mentally. The way we'll do that is with a daily 1-minute body scan. Here an example of how you can do this body scan: 4 Helpful tips: Time of Day: If you know consistency is challenging for you, choose a specific time of the day! Set an alarm if you need to. Have a timer to help you track your time. Location: This can be done anywhere, so let go of your limits about only doing this practice on your cushion. Try it the shower or when you're cooking dinner. Doing more: For the 21 days, just stick to 1-minute. If you'd like to do more, great, aim for 21-days of consistent 1-minute grounding. Let go of perfection: This isn't about creating the perfect meditation. Let's just try being with what arises! There is no wrong way to do this practice.

With many of us returning back to school and/or full swing at work after the summer, sometimes going from moving a lot to being at the desk for a while can feel like a lot on the body. Posture, posture correctors, standing desk height, and lumbar support are all topics that get a lot of attention. Sometimes it can be hard to know what is the most important after all. This month we've been exploring how our workouts and movement routines can help us experience not just physical changes, but mental, emotional and energetic transformation as well. When we practice presence and attuning to our inner experience, movement can open the gates to releasing trauma stored in the body, returning to a state of homeostasis and deep ease, and creating space for us to show up more authentically and fully in ALL that we are, in our workouts and in our daily lives. In this Ask Me Anything session, we will explore how to practice using movement as a tool to create a steady foundation within ourselves to show up more fully and take up SPACE in our daily lives. We'll discuss questions like: What are some simple embodiment practices to release fear and anxiety around showing up in my truth? Are there any breathing techniques that can help me feel more expansive and alive? What body postures might help me build confidence to not shrink my energy or myself around certain people?
