What are looks you can never see yourself in? What attire is so hard for you to pull off—that you think looks great on other women/people? We often find ourselves in this unfortunate pattern on comparison when it comes to attire. I’m sure we ALL find it hard (especially on days we’re not feeling 100% for whatever reason) to take time on our appearance. However, when receiving a few compliments on how I’ve been showing up to a few events or gym classes it started to dawn upon me why a compliment like this could feel so out of the blue . For me, it’s just a gym top and leggings,or jeans and a patterned sweater—but for others that’s a piece of clothing they could NEVER see themselves in. What’s casual to me could be what someone is working up to wearing and that’s EXTREMELY important to notice for YOURSELF and OTHERS. How we portray ourselves to other women can be so empowering and that is what is so wonderful about womenship and being in each-others shoes. When others see the beauty in us, it’s so easy to forget that we can do the same for them even when we aren’t meaning too. With all that said —EVERYONE is beautiful and there is nothing self centered or wrong about knowing this fact. A compliment so simple can really be an eye opener. It just reminds me of what brought me to dress the way I do, why I look the way I do, and why I put in this effort—and that’s to lift each-other up ladies/others! It’s such a relieving feeling to know all bodies have their beauties. You are beautiful.
I love this entire sentiment! I am a huge fan of "If it makes you feel good wear it" Also, "If you see something you like say it." Compliments are free and just as I enjoy recieveing them, it always makes me feel good to offer them to others as well. We have all recieved a compliment that changed our mood for the entire day, so offering that same feeling to others is such a great feeling.
