Y'all.....
I'm in my 20s and it sucks lol. Movies make your 20s so free and fun but it's not that glamorous. I've been played by guys too many times, I'm broke, prepping for grad school, and I'm still trying to figure things out so I'm going through all these lessons left and right I can't take it!!
I'm ready for my 30s. Just to have stability, be much wiser, and I can be TRULY free and live my best life! I see all these 30 y/o in their careers, taking trips, with their partners and just enjoying life and I want that!! I legit can't wait for my 30s. My family keeps trying to tell me that 20s are where it's at but I don't think they remember all the stress and anxiety. think I'm right like 20s are cool but I think 30s is where its at. Am I the only one team 30s??
@daranij I'm team 30s (well really team retirement lol). In my 20s now and I'm looking forward to a wiser and more stable me!! 20s has me feeling lost, anxious, and not in control.
@Vanessa I have MANY friends who were in your position and almost found entirely new versions of themselves. Give yourself grace in getting here 🙂
so glad you shared this @daranij I can totally relate. I'm in my mid-30s and will have to cast my vote that yes, everything feels more aligned (in my experience) in my 30s than in my 20s. However, What I WILL say was so valuable about my 20s is everything I LEARNED and things that felt challenging at the time then make more sense now when I look back in retrospect. Now what about the 40s?? Some of the women I admire most are in their 40s. I can't wait! Some of my female relatives in my life just entered their 60s and they say the 60s are the best! We're so glad you chimed in here. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Keep us posted and stay in the conversations with us 😍
@daranij I'm fresh into my 30's and I can say things are just different once this decade happens! I've always been the "late bloomer" in my friends. When people hit 25 and were "too old" to do things, I still wanted to go to the brunch party or big social event. Lol - I still am that way. I've learned there's no right way - everyone is on their own timeline. And its best not to compare yourself. HOWEVER, with the natural trajectory of our society. Generally by 30 we've had a few more years of our careers under our belt, things feel more settled, you start thinking of more "adult" goals. It's the general trend and I think it will very much come with time for you. But as someone who loves to soak up being in the moment, just appreciate all you're learning in your 20s! Embrace the uncertainty, because it's actually so exciting to know you can end up in so many different things! Truly, one day you will look back and realize everything that happened needed to. Careers and partners will come with time, your growth is happening at the speed that is right for you. Enjoy the 20's - it will pass by SO FAST. ❤️
I'm going to write this on a post-it note for this week @Leada_M "your growth is happening at the speed that is right for you" thank you for sharing that 😍
ANYTIME @Marisa 😊 I needed the reminder myself along the way!!
