    My Knees!

What you are all doing to protect your joints. I love HIIT, but am finding that my knees are taking a beating.   I would love to hear what you are doing to make sure your joints stay in shape!

    Do better for YOU!!

Anyone else feel like they prioritize their success on someone else’s feedback or validation? it’s extremely discouraging when the people around you either aren’t thinking the same way as you are, or aren’t doing the same thing as you as far as goals and what makes you “successful”. So you want to accomplish so much But you forgetting that it’s for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with having yourself to please when you make goals. They’re really only meant for you and to say that they’re not somebody else’s goals is completely fine. in fact, it’s bonus points when you do have that encouraging group or outlook, but there’s nothing wrong with being your own cheerleader. when the people around you weren’t pushing you it’s important to validate yourself and realize that you can push yourself. as for me I’m tired of feeling like I need to be successful for somebody else or for somebody more than me and there’s nothing wrong with that. ❤️

What are you using to layer?

It's at the point where the day goes from cold to warm to freezing so I need to come prepared when I go to the office once a week. I usually like denim jackets or a pullover, but I want some more options! Especially if I go from the office to drinks after work. Thank you!!!

    Out of Shape

Hi, I'm getting back into working out, but I'm out of shape and don't want to hurt myself. I have lower back pain when I move around a lot, but I know the pain will cease as I lose weight (its a paradox). How do you work through the pain or are there workouts for people just getting started

    Nutrition seems key

I feel like I recently made some progress in beating some menopause symptoms by focusing on good nutrition. Mary Claire Haver, MD has some great videos and tips. I have not read her new book yet, the Galveston Diet.  #https://www.youtube.com/@maryclairehavermd8473 Anybody else finds her helpful and has some best practices? What I started so far: - no added sugar- more fiber, for example wheat noodles- more protein and probiotics through yogurt, skyr- adding more nutritious ingredients, for example spinach- avoiding simple carbs, example white bread, white rice- adding more avocados, nuts and chia seeds I feel less hungry and started to enjoy nutritious food much more.

    Recommendations Needed: Gym Shoes

I've been going to strength training and treadmill classes at my local gym, and I'm in the market for a new pair of workout shoes for these classes. I've been wearing an old pair of Nike's (they are literally 8 years old), but I think I need a little more support because I have foot and shin pain for the first time in my life! Does anyone have any recommendations?  I've been eyeing Brooks' Glycerin StealthFit 20, but they are currently sold out.  So excited to hear your recommendations!

    Sleep help

I’m able to fall asleep with relative ease but I wake up around 2:00am every night and have a very hard time falling back asleep. Does anyone have a remedy for this problem? I’d rather not take prescription drugs if possible and melatonin doesn’t work for me. Many thanks!Elle

    Achilles Tendinitis

Anyone have any experience with Achilles Tendinitis?  SOMEHOW I came down the "wrong way" in a Fitness Class on my right ankle....and have had chronic pain in heel and ankle since September.  Just started physical therapy and was informed I have achilles tendinitis.  I have been going to the gym regularly - careful to not put too much stress on the ankle area...staying off the treadmill.  HOPING that eventually the pain will subside.  Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get through this....

Turned 45 and nervous about screenings

Hi all, I just turned 45 and I understand I need to go for first colon screening. I’m having a ton of anxiety as I get this way about every screening. I know I shouldn’t but the anxiety is crippling. I don’t know how to be cool about them. I think the worst . Any words of wisdom?

When was the last time you took yourself out on a date?

I'm talking about a day or evening that you have planned for yourself, out of the house, which may include dinner or lunch alone in a restaurant (which I know can be hard for some) a movie, maybe drinks at the bar, or anything that feels fun for you.  This past Sunday was the first time in a while that I took myself on a date.  I spent the morning shopping, took myself to brunch, had great conversation with the girls at the table next to me.  Then I took myself to a movie had a few drinks and apps at the bar and chatted a bit with some people from out of town. While I am typically a very social person there is something about going out alone, enjoying a nice meal by myself, maybe meeting new people at the bar and simply reconnecting to the person I was before I got married and had so many responsibilities that feels refreshing. I remember a time when I would not be comfortable at all spending time alone and always needed to be surrounded by others.  This was a great reminder of how far I have come and how learning to enjoy your own company is a form of self love.  How about you?  Do you date yourself?  What does your date night look like?
